Putting conference attendees in the hot seat against a live AI host.
A professional services firm wanted to stand out at a major industry conference — not by presenting, but by putting attendees inside an AI experience. The concept was a live, personalised podcast-style interview conducted by a generative AI host, running continuously from the event floor.
As Creative Director and Strategist, the work covered the end-to-end experience: drawing people in with live screen content and a QR sign-up flow, designing and training the AI conversation model itself, and creating a post-interview content capture system that turned each transcript into shareable assets. Significant effort went into the conversation design — tone of voice, response structure, guardrails, and theme-specific training packages — to ensure the AI host felt genuinely curious and credible rather than formulaic. A visual orb animated the AI's listening states to manage the latency of a multi-channel tech stack.
Across a two-day activation, 75 interviews were completed with zero drop-outs, and the experience went on to become a prototype for further AI activations within the organisation.
